I wanted to call my readers by an affectionate name. The reason is that writing is something that’s close to my heart, and therefore the people who care to read give my words meaning. So here is a poem for my readers. Your name is revealed at the end of the poem.
Because on the days when my world crashed down
And my heart stopped feeling warm
When I thought I hit the deepest point
Of the times that never failed to disappoint.
When life did a take on me,
Yet showed what stood by me
Silently reminding that I was strong, I reached,
For the words in my heart ,
Which gave life to my thoughts.
For the words I had,
In love and war.
For the words I wrote,
That you dared to read.
For the words that fluttered,
Because my asters flowered.
So, my dear readers, you are my asters.
Asters are one of the flowers butterflies are really attracted to. And that was the initial reason why I chose that name. But while I was looking up some pictures of the flower so that I could paint them, I stumbled upon the meaning of it. And the truth is that I was overwhelmed. The flower symbolizes wisdom and love, and the name comes from the Greek word for star. It is considered a talisman of love and also symbolizes Venus, the goddess of love. So, I indeed chose the right name for my hoomans. The flower is also the birth month flower of September.
According to Greek mythology, it is believed that the tears of Asterea who wept for lives lost during a war bloomed into aster flowers.
Lots of love,
The butterfly girl.
